NOTICE July 30, 2010
Currently we are experiencing an extremely large volume of construction activity. Because of this, our permit plan review turn round time is extended. The following turnaround times are meant as a general guideline and we will strive to still meet these timeframes, but we may not be able to accomplish this goal in some cases.
GOAL: To develop a dependable, reasonable, and consistent plan review time frame. This targeted review time only applies to the initial review; subsequent reviews of re-submittals or of responses to the initial review comments generally require additional time. Small job/Scope of Work permits 2-5 working days (1 week)
Operational/Special Event permits 5-10 working days (1-2 weeks)
Tenant finish building permit referrals 10-20 working days (2-4 weeks)
Re-model/Addition building permit referrals 15-20 working days (2-4 weeks)
New Commercial/Multi Family Projects 20 to 30 working days (4-6 weeks)
• This is only a goal and not a guarantee; larger or more complicated projects or multiple same day tenant finish plan submittals may take longer.
• Additional time may also be required for insufficient, incomplete, inaccurate, and/or improperly submitted plans, specifications, and/or applications. Contractors are encouraged to call to clarify any questions prior to submittal at 303-384-8094.
• For field inspection and testing related to plan reviews, GFD does not have an inspection hotline system for a next day inspection. However, GFD will schedule inspections the same day if available time exists. In most cases 3 working days is appropriate. Contractors are encouraged to plan ahead and communicate issues that arise and that may dictate postponing inspections or testing to avoid re-inspection fees and to allow better service to others who are ready for inspections or testing. Please call in cancellations to GFD at 303-384-8094.
